Friend of Putin and Former Stasi Officer Reveals All in Tell-All Interview

NEW YORK (RichTVX.com) — A close ally of Vladimir Putin, gave an interview to German newspaper Die Zeit, detailing their conversations during the early days of the conflict in Ukraine. In the interview, the individual, who is a veteran of the East German Stasi political police, shared that he tried to convince Putin to end the war. The interview draws attention to his account of a meeting with Putin in Moscow on an unnamed day “a few months” after February 24, where Putin was questioned about his goals in Ukraine.”What are your goals?” he asked Putin, and they almost always spoke in German. “You talk about Donetsk and Lugansk, but at the same time your troops want to take Kyiv. How does it fit together? Do you want Odessa, or Kharkov, or the whole of Ukraine, or even more?” Putin answered only: “It’s a state secret.” They sat opposite each other, like two friends who suddenly had nothing more to say to each other. According to the individual, Putin suggested that he brings his family to Moscow and promised to help him settle down there, but he immediately refused. The fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 led to the dissolution of the Stasi, but the legacy of its oppressive practices continues to be felt in Germany today.
