Journalistic Consortium Reveals Russian Plan to Destabilize Moldova
New York (RichTVX.com) — The Kremlin’s alleged plan to destabilize Moldova was recently exposed by the Dossier Center. According to a document titled “Strategic goals of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Moldova,” which was developed by the Russian presidential administration in 2021, Russia aims to politically and economically subdue Moldova. The document was obtained by a consortium of journalists, including Süddeutsche Zeitung, RISE, Delfi, and Kyiv Independent. The plan includes forcing Moldova to join the CSTO and expanding its participation in the EAEU, while resisting NATO and EU influence. Pro-Russian sentiment in Moldova is also targeted through propaganda and educational programs, as well as supporting Moldovan pro-Russian politicians. The document was allegedly developed by subordinates of Dmitry Kozak, the deputy head of the presidential administration. Protests have erupted in Moldova in recent weeks, with the pro-Russian opposition party Shor taking an active part. The protesters are demanding state payment of utility bills, prevention of war in Moldova, and President Maia Sandu’s resignation. In February, Sandu accused Russia of trying to interfere in Moldova’s internal affairs, and Ukraine’s President, Volodymyr Zelensky, said that Kyiv had intercepted plans of the Russian special services to destabilize Moldova.
