Shimza's Pacha Residency Boosts African Dance Music in Ibiza

Shimza, a prominent figure in the South African music scene, is making waves with his new residency at Pacha Ibiza, a major milestone in his career. Known for his contributions to the Afro-house genre, Shimza is not only showcasing his talents but also elevating African music on an international stage. As he expands his reach beyond South Africa, he feels he is 'building from scratch' in this new environment.

This residency is particularly significant as Ibiza has historically celebrated various music styles while often overlooking their origins. Shimza aims to change this narrative by bringing along fellow African artists, fostering a sense of community and collaboration. This initiative is pivotal in helping African dance music take root in Ibiza, a place renowned for its vibrant nightlife and diverse musical offerings.

Shimza's influence is expected to resonate well with the island's audience, who are increasingly open to new sounds and cultural experiences. His efforts reflect a growing trend of African artists gaining recognition in global music scenes, further enriching the electronic music landscape. As Shimza continues to perform and share his music, he is paving the way for future generations of African musicians to find their place in the world of electronic dance music.
